LIGHT OF CHRIST - The purpose of the Light of Christ program is to help a boy develop a personal relationship with Jesus (with the active help and participation of his family). To be eligible, a boy must be a registered Tiger Cub or Wolf Cub Scout of the Catholic faith and must complete all the requirements before he starts Third Grade.
PARVULI DEI - The Parvuli Dei (Children of God) emblem is given in special recognition by the Church to a Cub or Webelos Scout for advancement in religious knowledge and spiritual growth. The purpose of this program is to help young boys explore a wide range of activities in order to discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of their family and parish, and also to develop a good, positive self-image through the contributions they can make to the faith community.
AD ALTARE DEI - The Ad Altare Dei is a program for boys registered in the Boy Scout program. Emblem requirements usually take six months to complete. Its purpose is to help Scouts develop a fully Christian way of life. The program is organized in steps based on the seven Sacraments. The Sacraments are used as the basis for spiritual growth and development in the boys. Scouts must be registered for at least one year before receiving the award.
POPE PIUS XII - The Pope Pius Xll Emblem is designed for Explorers and Boy Scouts of High School age. The program provides young people a setting where they may discuss, dialogue and give serious thought, together with a qualified adult, about the spiritual concerns of their lives and about those matters that will contribute to their maturity as Catholic adults. The program urges them to give thought to their vocations in life, their relationship with God, reponsibilities toward others, contributions they will make to society and what kind of commitments they should make in the light of their Faith.
BISHOP'S AWARD - The Bishop’s Award was instituted to recognize the contributions of adult leaders in the spiritual aspects of the Scouting program within the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Allentown. To download a copy of the nomination form, click HERE.
SAINT GEORGE AWARD - The St. George Emblem is the National Catholic Committee on Scouting ® emblem awarded by a(n) (arch)diocese/eparchy. The purpose of the St. George Emblem is to recognize the recipient's outstanding contribution to the spiritual development of Catholic youth in the program of the Boy Scouts of America.
